Pitti Filati AW 22 23

Trasformer was the main theme presented at Pitti Filati AW 22 23 and curated by Angelo Figus and Nicola Miller. A concept inherent to many aspects of life and nature. A change captured through three aspects that seem particularly important at this time. Transformation through the main three themes of this edition: body, spaces and things meant as “devices” for our daily lives.

The theme Body suggests sophisticated and interesting explorations of shapes and materials which are high-tech and classic at the same time. Clothing is hybrid and multi-purpose, suitable for layering. Textures are rich and shapes are padded. Self-expression and customization are a core feature in this theme.

Theme Space explores how in recent times, our homes transformed into spaces for any aspect of the life, daily living, working, and they have been the children main playground too. This brought a rising need for a kind of luxury and a way of taking care of ourselves which is less public. Fibers and yarn main qualities can be found in the inner side, through the use of sustainable fibers, confirming the commitment of the fashion industry to a more sustainable future, possible with the development of optimal solutions in perfect balance with nature.

This transformation seen in the spaces surrounding us and in the Devices we use, will be reflected in clothing too. Elegant and functional, adaptable to our new indoor life. Like modular furniture, capable of transforming using zippers, buttons and zippers. The focus is all on comfortable cocooning materials: chenille, stretch fabrics and padding, finished with ergonomic stitching and layering. Natural yarns will be mixed with synthetics.
